Raman finished his Class 10th exams last week. The results are expected in 2 months time. But Raman is still studying. Tomorrow, 3rd May 2010, he has to leave for Delhi to appear for 3 more exams which will get him admission into a IIT coaching institute in Delhi or Kota.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Raman knows that competition to get admission into a good coaching institute is very high. And even if he gets selected, he is not sure he will get into IITs which are the best Engineering Colleges in India.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Raman's father, Mr D R Sharma, is an officer with Life Insurance Corporation of India, in Burhanpur, MP. He has gathered information from his colleagues and relatives about these coaching institutes. The coaching program is for 2 years for which the fees is between Rs 1.5 lakhs to 2 lakhs. Raman will have to stay in a hostel or take a room on rent with some other boys. His food and other expenses will be around Rs5,000 to Rs10,000 per month.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Mr. Sharma is willing to spend this money for the sake of his son's bright future. But he has some doubts in his mind
-------------------------------------------------------------
For the next 2 years, Raman will have to eat food from hotels or local tiffin centres. He will not get the nutrition needed for his studies.

On 3rd May, Raman's classmate Sagar came to his house. Sagar was to accompany Raman to Delhi for the admission test in Delhi. He told "Raman that Sagar was planning to cancel his visit to Delhi.
-------------------------------------------------------------
MissionIIT had come to Burhanpur.
"Now what is MissionIIT and why would it come to a small town like Burhanpur", asked Raman's father
Sagar explained that he will now study for IIT entrance, from the best teachers located in Delhi. And all this while staying in Burhanpur itself.
"MissionIIT has set up a centre in Burhanpur and through Satellite internet, students will be able to see and hear their teachers in the classroom. The teacher will also be able to see them. Students will take tests, ask doubts and answer spot quizzes along with students from all over India." he added.
"And Uncle, at Mission IIT, all the teachers are ex-IITians."
It was hard to stop Sagar from talking.
"The fees is also very less. They are charging only Rs 48,000 for two years." said Sagar.
"Are you sure?" asked Mr. Sharma in disbelief.
"Yes, sure. I am going there at 11:00AM to confirm my admission, why don't you come with me." Sagar told Raman.
"It is already 10:15. If that is the case, we should visit the MissionIIT centre at 11:00AM and then cancel our trip to Delhi" quipped Raman's mother.
Both Raman and Sagar joined the Burhanpur centre of Mission IIT.
